Archives: Video

Some of it ran on the Internet, some of it still is on the Internet and some of it ran on TV, on platforms called “television network broadcasting channels”. But whether people watched it on a phone, a laptop or a flat screen hung on the wall, actual humans with minds & emotions were still the audience.

Samsung

Global anthem for Samsung Mobile’s “ecosystem of connected devices”. Inspirational-sounding right? This video ran in like 14 countries over the holidays, aimed at all the people who can’t be with family & friends over the holidays. P.S. the penguins were all SAG, a really great bunch.

United Healthcare

If Medicare was a physical thing you could interact with, it’d probably be the creature’s blood from Alien. But the ROI of the campaign launched with this video was $4.25 for every $1 spent, which is apparently lots of ROI.

Sam’s Club

Hired to make an ‘epic sales team video’, but created this instead: a story for the current generation of shoppers obsessed with ‘authenticity’ but who ironically have no idea who the Sam in Sam’s Club actually is. In the age of Costcos and Targets, Sam Walton was the original cheap chic.

McDonald’s

There’s lots of ways to introduce McDonald’s restaurants of the future. One way is make it seem like the present.

Fifth Third Bank

The five thirds better bank bank often partners with Stand Up 2 Cancer & MasterCard to boost awareness and donations. During this video’s run, new 5/3 bank credit card applications shot up 34%, which is kind of cool.

Invesco Digital

"Skip Ad in 5s, 4s, 3s, 2s--".  That countdown signifies the death of most pre-roll content, unless it’s somehow compelling enough to watch all the way through. Good luck, thought leadership films for a global asset manager!

Kellogg’s

Every company does some kind of “good” to make up for all the capitalism they do. For Kellogg’s, part of that good is their Breakfast Club program, which among other things provides over 25 million bowls of cereal a year to underserved kids. If I did that much good, I’d probably want to make a global film about it too.
